Our Team

Dr. Kirschen is an Optometrist and a Vision Scientist. He received his OD and PhD degrees from UC Berkeley. Dr. Kirschen has worked in sports vision with many professional sports teams for 33 years. He also worked with the US Olympic team in 2007 and received the AOA Sports Vision Optometrist of the Year award. He is a fellow in the American Academy of Optometry and has served the Academy as President of the AAO Foundation. Dr. Kirschen is also a Professor Emeritus of Optometry and Visual Science at the Southern California College of Optometry at MBKU and the former Chief of Binocular Vision and Orthoptic Services at the Jules Stein Eye Institute, UCLA. Dr. Kirschen has authored over 56 papers, 5 textbook chapters and has lectured extensively in the US and abroad for over 53 years. He also has a sport vision only practice in Encinitas, CA.

When he’s not at the office, Dr. Kirschen can be found lecturing throughout the United States and abroad. He’s also very involved in his local community and serves as a board member for the Hillel Foundation of Orange County and the Jewish Federation of Orange County. Dr. Kirschen enjoys camping and hiking in the great outdoors, playing sports, and spending quality time with his family. He and his wife have three children and seven wonderful grandchildren.

Dr. Stephen Moffett, O.D. is an Optometrist providing complete eye care services for the surrounding communities. As a licensed optometrist, Dr. Moffett, O.D. provides assessments, diagnoses, and treatments of all disorders that affect the eye or vision.

Dr. Moffett, O.D. enjoys surfing and skiing.
